Well, In my opinion, these frigates will not provide any good defence or offensive capability. These surface battle ships are only helpful if they got a very good air-cover.. We know PAF is numerically shorter than its rivals.. Not only numerically but technologically as well.. But this technological gap is reduced a lot in few years and will be reduced completely in coming years with the induction of JF-17s, modernistation of older mirages, updation of F-16s, acuiring of blk-52 Vipers, and possibly induction of J-10s.. But even with that fleet, it will remain smaller in numbers to its rival naturally. So, PN will and is have a lesser Air-cover. Those frigates are very vulnerable in a massive Air-strike. Today's Ashm are quite effective.. What this ship will do if two or three cruise missiles are launched towards it from a distance of 150 kms or more ?.. I guess nothing muchh... am uncertain of any CIWS in these ships.. I would have been rather glad, if we would have obtained 2 more subs instead 4 these surface ships.. Subs are 10 times more harder to kill.. Quieter subs with AIP systems are as deadly as anything. These frigates are just sitting ducks in case of war..nothing more.. This F22 has a very limited Air-defence. Its only effective if enemy fighter is within 10-15 kms range. Whereas enemy fighters are capable to launch cruise missiles from over 150 kms.. just Imagine urself!..
